when I got off work at 7 am it was 5 degrees F outside - with a wind chill of -10 brrrrrrr. I waited by the Lake Superior shoreline for the sun to rise - dang near froze to death walking along the waters edge, but it was worth it. Then, I drove to Au Train and Munising hoping to find some ice volcanoes....still too early for them. I did get some nice shots of the shoreline, Lake Superior, and Wagner Falls (which I had to blaze a path through 3 1/3 feet of snow). I'll post my Superior Winter Shots once I get done processing 'em later today. First - I need a warm cup of cocoa and a nap.

Ice volcanoes??
And by the way, can't wait to see the pics! :)
Also, if you must insist on being out in such cold weather, may I suggest a trip to the hunting/fishing section of Wal-Mart to pick up some pocket warmers, hand warmers, and foot warmers? Might make it a wee bit more comfy for you... |

| I'm actually surprised it was that warm up that way; it was -2 degrees F at my place this morning. |

I was bundled up well enough to keep most of me warm....just my face and ears were frozen. I have tons of hunting gear to keep me arm, and my boots are rated to -45 degrees. I hate wearing hoods, hats, ear muffs, etc. I like to be able to see and hear everything and in every direction which I can't do if I cover my ears or block my peripheral vision with a hood. Ah, but I added some nice coloriing to my cheeks without the use of makeup! lol

| I think it got down to 3 degrees last night here in kansas. We had about 8-9 inches of snow this weekend, so it looks like a winter wonderland out there... |

wow... we actually got 3 feet on Friday (within 24 hours). It was crazy, the snowplows were even having trouble getting on the road! and of corse.... my snowblower was the only one that "WANTED" to work on the street, so i spent my snowday behind it for almost 6 hours...

Greetings all,
Cold here as well last night, down in the single digits again, no wind to speak of though, still was a good night to get out with my cam and play around.
First is a pic of snowmaking in progress at Mt. Cranmore and the second is the Eastern Slope Inn and Resort, both in North Conway NH, USA. Both pics were taken at about 4am. Any Comments will be returned 1:1.
Thanks, Mike |

The fun part when this happens is the water instantly freezes on any exposed clothing forming a protective shield. Makes movement difficult (pre-oiled tin man comes to mind) but it's still kool :)
So,.
Where the goods at Linda? |
