Hi there,
Thanks for taking a look at this. I took this on Friday just down the road from my house. I just love old farm equipment, barns, grain silos, etc. Anyway, I did a little photoshopping to it. I cloned out a few distractions and obviously messed around with the color balances, etc. If you have any comments, good and/or bad, that would be awesome. Thanks a million.

Thanks taterbug. You have some great ideas. I created a dupicate layer and performed a gauissian blurr on it and then erased it around the old seeder. Is that a USM?
I will take a stab at cloning out the house. I agree with you, it is a tad distracting. Thanks for taking the time to make a great comment! |

USM = unsharp mask in photoshop. It gives you way more control over sharpening than the sharpen tool. I believe there is a tutorial on it in the tutorials section here on the site. Most folks swear by it. I think it works great. Many dslr users (and even p&s) will set their in camera sharpening setting lowest possible, or no sharpening in camera, then use the usm in editing for what the image needs or their own taste.

Nice picture. I like old farm stuff too. Must be because there's so much of it around! |

Nice composition.
I took a turn at your picture. Mostly done with a Photoshop levels adjustment layer...set the white point on the house, black point set on deep shadow at lower right, grey point set at middle of sky directly above right wheel. Small application of curves.
The a vignetting could be removed rather easily in Photoshop. |

Thanks riolobo (River Wolf?)! Your redition is great. It really cleans it up. That's funny, I never even noticed the vignetting. I think I was so zoomed in, that I never made it to the corner.
Anyway, thanks for the comment and the ideas. |
