I do not have an expensive micro lens. I do have the 50 f/1.8 II and would like to know if the 52mm Filter Close-Up Set (+1 to +7) filter set would help in getting better micro pictures.

I used to use a +2 and a +4 stacked on my Fuji 602 to quite good effect. If these filters are cheap enough, then I'd say give them a go.

This was done that way - same lens you have with close up filters. You have to be VERY close to the subject and it is best to focus manually.

You can also get a 52mm to 52mm macro coupler for $8 and reverse-mount the 50/1.8 on the 18-55.
