this is an old dock that I am strangely drawn to. Comments are appreciated.

Pug,

It's a very nice shot. Feels a tad blocked up to me in the darks, so I did a contrast mask. Then, unable to leave well enough alone, I added a gradient mask to the sky and faded it :-)



BTW, for what it's worth (and I am fighting a losing battle here) a "dock" is actually the space alongside the pier, where the boat may tie up. Common usage is unfortunately changing that :-(

thanks Robt. - I really like what you did here. I went back and bumped the contrast, but after jumping back and forth between the gradient sky and the white sky, I really like the brighter sky so I left it alone. Here's the edited version:

FWIW, take a close look at the details int he dark areas on our two versions; I have actually DECREASED contrast, not bumped it, by creating contrast masks. Shadow/highlight adjustment will do it in CS2, I used cntrl-alt-tilde and cntrl-j system.
