I'm looking to print my nude III entry to frame. While i'm re-editing the picture, i've got it looking tanish in photoshop. When i go to Save as or Save for web, both come out with a blue look. It's a duotone, but i can't figure out why it's not even in the same ballpark. Can anyone help me out here?

Anyone? I've never had these problems before so i don't know what's wrong. Even when i save it as sRGB as jpeg and get the blue output, and then put the file back into photoshop, it turns tan again. I'm getting ready to scream! I'd really like to print this soon.

I'm guessing you have a discrepancy between what you see on the screen and your printer output. It's not 100% clear from your description.

Assuming that's the case, your monitor and printer are not calibrated to each other basically. You may not normally see the difference, but in an image with so little color as this one any color shift in the printing process will be very noticeable. Couple that with the fact that the print will look bluer by daylight than it does by incandescent light, and you have a lot of variables.

I have added a color profile for my Epson printer to the photoshop folder that holds profiles. When I am going to print, I assign the printer's profile to the image, then I have to change the editing so it looks right again. In my case color fidelity is not an issue, but if I print directly from my screen-edited images they come out too light. When I apply the epson profile they lighten ont he screen, and I use levels to pull them back down to the appearance I want.

So I'm guessing somethign in that range is happening.

I have done no printing at this point. All differences in color are from what i see in photoshop, and what i see outside photoshop. I know there are differences when using aRGB, but there shouldn't be with sRGB. With that said, there also is a big jump between blue and tan... :-/

btw: printing will be done at an online lab to be selected still. With that i'd be more than happy to get an sRGB image to send because being a duotone upsized a lot and somewhat noisy, i don't see the range of colors being a problem. But i would like to be able to control the color i want...
