Twice weekly we've been visiting the resthomes with animals for just over a year now. Sometimes you really don't want to go....you're tired, it's hot, and you just know it's going to be even hotter in there!
But when you arrive they're waiting, smiles on faces, arms open for the animals.....you forget the heat, you just see the joy.

This is so sweet. My sister works with the elderly and I admire anyone who does. They appreciate the time you take to spend with them and look forward to it. Your doing god's work. |

You captured the true pleasure this brought to this women. Such a sweet shot. I witnessed how much comfort and joy an animal can bring an elderly person first hand. My parents were married 51 years and my mom passed away first. My dad lived 3 years longer than her and I am sure his dog is what kept him going those 3 years. He would have been so lonesome and totally lost if not for his dog.
I have seen stories of people doing what you're doing and think it's such a great thing. It's got to be so rewarding seeing the smiles you bring to them.

This is a great shot, it truely is amazing what true happiness is.... so many people are to materialistic and don't appriciate the simple pleasures of life. Looking at an elderly person playing with a small child or an animal can teach everyone else a valuable lesson.... Your doing great work Sue! Kepp it up! |
