I caught the following at the web site for a local TV station.
First "Send us pictures you've taken of this latest winter storm."
But they want to make sure you have read their service agreement. It reads in part "By uploading a photo, (a) you grant to ----.com a perpetual, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, copy, print, display, reproduce, modify, publish, post, transmit and distribute the photo and any material included in such photo; and (b) you agree to indemnify -----.com and its affiliates, directors, officers and employees and hold them harmless from any and all claims and expenses, including attorneys' fees, arising from the photo and/or your failure to comply with these rules.
In short they want your image of the recent snow storm, but they also want the right to use the image anywhere and forever at no cost to them. And they don't even promise to give you credit for the picture.
Seems a bit heavy handed to me. |
