It is in the U.S. too!

And we're lucky to make it up to -4C at midday in Minnesota.

It's not light (if you can call the eternal overcast gloom we have here "light") here until 8AM or so.

Rumor has it that to make things fair to the people who get up that early to shoot for this challenge, there will be a change in the way voting is handled.

Votes will be time stamped and only votes made between 4-5 am local time will be counted.

Sunrises around 8 here and goes down at 5. 4 - 5 am is pitch black in some places. I still managed a shot though.

Nice thought Neil. I wonder how many 10s would be given out by voters who still have their eyes closed. Wait a minute, that's how they normally vote. ;o)

I'm cold and I want it to snow.

Please make it snow.

I can' believe I'm actually going to get up at 4 am local time, take pictures, edit them and submit them before the international deadline. Argh!

The moon set after 5am this morning, but I was still asleep. So, I can't enter this challenge...

plenty of people had success at various times of the night in this challenge.

I don't think the challenge stated that the shot had to be taken outside or with no lights on, just within those hours 8)

I didn't read anywhere that we had to go outside to take this picture. It just said we had to take it between 4-5 pm. Someone joked about taking their camera to bed with them, and just shooting a picture at that time without actually getting up. I didn't think that was a half bad idea.
