Last Friday morning we were treated to some freezing rain. Once the sun came out I made it outside to grab a few photos. Here's a few I found interesting...

I like the first one, eventhough I think others will tell you it's a little blown out. I also like the berries. I wish the background of the birdhouse was in focus.

Thanks for the feedback - much appreciated.

The ice on the trees was very bright and I kind of went with it intentionally.

On the birdhouse I went with a shallow aperture to try and force some bokeh in the background. I figured the ice and melting droplets would make some interesting point of lights in the background. Nothing but trees to see back there anyway. ;^)

Nice pics, I like 'Ice Berries' best.

How cold is it there? Lots of snow and ice all over, it looks like... not here, but it's cold

Thanks. Daytime mid 30's right now, Nighttime in the low to mid teens. Cold enough! ;^)

I like the berries the best, too. It's a nice composition, and the colors really came through nice. The first one, with the leaves, is also good. I'm a fan of sun flares and that one works well. :D

Thanks. I'm surprised about the berries being preferred by most. I had a tough time deciding between 'Icy Bokeh' and 'Icy Rain' and my favorite for this set. I think the streaks of 'rain' (melting ice) are too subtle in 'Icy Rain' perhaps?
