Many challenge entries are staged, posed, and/or use props. And many challenge topics encourage this. How about a challenge where the subject must be in its natural state without interference from the photographer? |

I like the thought, most of my pictures are natural, I dont do well in "studio" shots so I think this would be great!

I don't get it. Elaborate.

meaning (the way I took it) dont stage anything, take a picture of the the scene as you come across is.

What's the "natural" state of my kitchen? Is it before or after I do the dishes?

I thought my last two entries did okay, they were taken in their natural settings.
I like many other aspects of photography, I've been trying to get outdoors more and learn to use the natural light (or lack there of) to compose a good shot.

To elaborate,
Landscapes or cityscapes would be natural
A display of toys in a shop window would be natural, but the studio shot by kudzo, naturally, would not be.
Flash photography would not be natural.
Living flowers would be natural, but arranged cut flowers would not be natural.
Candid portraits would be natural.
Interiors would be natural if not staged.

I think Natural would be the wrong word to get what you are after in a challenge. Using the word natural will lead to sooo many misinturpretions of your intent. In fact I would be willing to bet that the small organization loosly known as the DPS Anals will pull out all the butt plugs on this one.

Well, literally it means "from nature". So it isn't quite the word I want. Maybe "Reality"?
And sorry, Kudzu, for the typo.
