I am still looking for a bag for my trip to Zermatt. I need to order one today! I tried ordering a regular sling bag and I was going to customize it, but the sling strap is much too small for my needs.

Here's what I am thinking, for hiking around in Zermatt. I want to try and travel light when hiking. My 350D, 10-22mm, 70-300mm IS DO, and the Sigma 18-125. I might be able to just carry two lenses, but I really need the three to be prepared for anything. I also have a number of filters to carry--mainly Cokin P, which are actually pretty big so I need a good size accessory pocket or room in the main compartment.

So right now, it's between:

Tamrac 5608 Pro 8 Camera Bag

LowePro PhotoRunner

or if you want to put in a word for one of the sling bags, and think they will be better than the above, I'm game. The reason I like the photo runner is that it has a waist belt and shoulder belt. I have an eagle creek bag which is too small but I've been using that when I travel light, and having a belt and a shoulder strap is nice for hiking. The Tamrac doesn't have that.

Help! If I don't order today, I don't think I'll get it on time.

I'm getting the Lowepro Off Trail 2:

I have that bag. Bought it last fall, and I've used it less than 10 times. Make me an offer.

Why do you need another bag then? It should hold the camera with lens attached and 2 other lenses.

I bought it so I could keep the 70-200 attached. I don't use that lens anymore--too big.

The good news is that it's tall so it's great for keeping a long lens attached. The bad news is that it's tall, and I don't find it all that comfortable to carry as it goes down mid-thigh. I switched to a sling bag shortly after buying it.

I couldn't see cross-country skiing with it. Maybe not even snowshoeing.

It is nice that it has both shoulder and waist packs, and the separate lens pockets are great too (can't knock into something when you are in separate pockets.

Weird--I just found the photorunner at Amazon for $34.99, and the black one for $47.99. Look like the same bag! For $34.99, and free shipping, I just ordered it, hoping it will actually come in time!
