So Im getting a new lens. I was thinking about these two.

If you are in the market for a lens and are going to spend over $400 on it then I would find something that focuses quietly and has a fixed max aperture. The Sigma has the fixed max aperture but is probably slow and noisy when focusing. The only Sigma lenses worth owning have an HSM suffix.

What are you looking for? constant ap or the range?

Consider also:
Sigma 18-50 2.8 EX DC or the Tamron SP 24-135 3.5-5.6.

how do you like the Sigma 18-50 2.8 EX DC? How easily does it focous manually? Any information you can give me would be great. Thanks.
