Do you have one/some? How do they do for heat? (My 500w halogen shop light has melted props.)

It's not hot like that at all. It's like a flashlight. :) VERY bright halogen flashlight. :) I haven't used the 10M one, but my 1M one spotlight rocks - it's bright and doesn't get hot at all. I have two layers of cloth attached to the lens as a little softbox and it gets warm, but no more than a lightbulb. I've used 500W halogens - it's not close in temp.

you know if youre offering to buy everyone with a small studio one of these, its gonna get expensive Matt. You might have to go back to crappy work.

I saw this at Costco a week or so ago. I think it was $25. I have a 1m one, but when I saw the 10,000,000 on that box, I had made one of those Tim Allen noises.
