I have a Minolta Maxxum 5000i, currently using a Sigma 35-135mm lens, and I'm looking for something to give me a greater range of focal lengths. This is the only SLR I've ever used, so I really don't have any experience with different lenses and focal lengths at all, so I was wondering if I could get some advice?

Also, what's your opinion/experience with buying lenses over eBay? I've seen these go for around $80, and other online dealers sell them at around $250. However, this one comes with a warranty so I guess I could exchange it if it's defective...I've skimmed a few reviews on it so far and people either love it or hate it, and people who hate it just seem to have gotten a defective lens.

I'm not really ready to shell out much more than a hundred dollars for a lens at the moment, so please keep that in mind as well.

Thanks.

that is a decent lens, and for $100 a good deal.
I have bought new lenses off ebay no probs. I bought 1 used one no problems, and well, i've not had any probs buying off ebay - just use some common sense, use paypal to pay.
