Okay, not really. Strange things happening. I surfed as usual, worked on my PC. Had dinner, came back, and no sites except for DPC and istockphoto work anymore. What the hell is this? If no pages at all worked...
Any any any ideas what on earth this might be?

Have you got a firewall?

My sisters computer had problems with Norton firewall a few weeks back and it meant she was extremely limited in what she could do. Check out any settings you have if thats the case and make sureyou are fully updated. Although you may not have same prob but you can always try it anyway.

I have ZoneAlarm Pro, but I already switched it off. I already suspected it might be the cause, but it doesn't seem so.

Do you run Spybot and Adaware regularly?

I have Spybot, but didn't run it for some time. My antivir is scanning my hard disc right now.

I'd guess your DNS was briefly down and your machine had addresses cached for the most recently viewed sites.
