IMHO, I think a photographer should be able to mark his/her photos as nude. The nude setting should be set on preferences to on as default and nude images should not show in voting unless this filter is off.
Personal reasons aside, there are some younger voters around here as well as concerned parents. Also, there are those that are just offended by nudity.

| in the preferences there is an option to hide nude photos, though I'm not quite sure how it works on the photographers side and it doesn't block the images from the forum. |

| I agree that it would be nice if photographers could mark their own. I disagree about having the default option to filter set to on. I think the offended are fewer in numbers. |

Images are already tagged as nudes by the SC once voting starts, and once voting ends are hidden from those with the 'no nudity' preference set. However, I don't think we hide nudes during challenge voting (tho one of the other SC may correct me on this), so the general advice is to not look at the voting pages from work (if your internet usage is regulated that way).
As for "younger voters", no-one under 13 is allowed to sign up to DPC without parental consent, and no-one under 18 can gain membership without consent (I think), so any kids viewing the site should be doing so with their parents' knowledge.

Shoot, then I would have to toggle my 'Nude' filter off so I could go in and vote down nude images in non-nude challenges...certainly wouldn't want to be surprised and see a 'Hidden due to content' image placeholder show up in a ribbon spot without having a shot at it first. ;^)

And to think when I saw the title of this thread I was thinking there would be a filter that would only allow me to see nudes D'OH !

and no, I disagree that we should limit images in voting in any way. I understand OP's reasons, but disagree with the remedy. Maybe a site poll - we didn't have those in a while. It should be non-binding to D&L, and if there is really strong support for this suggestion, I would recommend either spawning a new web site or creating a 3rd category of members that will enjoy their own challenges that would be prohibited from entering, viewing, studying, criticizing etc. non-compliant images.

I would like to see fully clothed dogs and cats from now on ....and while were at it, no more bare trees or bushs. If a tree or bush doesn't have leaves, I would like a special button to block it out.
Don't you just hate nature....so uncivilized.

I don't think kids can view nudity legally with or without parental consent. |

And as any high school kid would tell you, there are much better(?) sites for viewing nekked men/women than DPC... |

| That frame is just awesome - any time voting gets a little mundane, i hold up the frame and the challenge gets a whole lot more interesting! |

Here in Alabama (and yes this is sooo backwoods backwards) nudity can not be legally shown to persons under 21.
Which, I find quite hilarious, because they can pose for it at 18.

YEAH!!! ...and that goes for chairs and tables too. All things need to be covered.
