Right choice? I had thought this image would do quite a bit better, but clearly this challenge was destined to be the "night and stacks" challenge :-)

Bear, I tend to like the second outtake the most. I voted your first an 8, but I like the composition on the 2nd outtake better.

I liked your pick for the entry the best...
I wonder why mine sucked so bad.. |

This is so funny, cause this was exactly the shot I was going to take if I entered industrial. It's really the only thing in my town that would have counted. I actually even had to ask my husband if the water tank is industrial, since I was unsure. When I saw yours in the challenge, I was almost glad I didn't enter. It would have been nearly a complete duplicate except I would have entered the one above and not the cropped one you did enter.

I loved it. I gave it a 9 personally.

I saw that Rose:). I just wondered where it failed with the voters |

Actual entry
Willing to bet the outtakes would have scored better, if not necessarily near the top. I don't regret entering the one I did though.
I liked your actual entry best bear. |

Wish I could tell you. I have to wonder where a lot of mine failed with the voters too. :) Some things we may never know unfortunately.

I gave yours a 5. I really didn't like the fence and the tones. I would have given the first one to the left you posted a 7 though. Very pretty!

It's not a bad picture, but it ran up against several dozen exceptionally nice night shots of stacks, and it suffered by comparison. When there are large groups of similar entries, voters tend to grade the curve.

Bear_music, I really like all those photos. Perhaps one of the other ones might have done better because it's more obvious as to what it is (I guess). Regardless I thought the one you actually used deserved a better score.
