My camera has RETURNED!!!!!
Thankfully, after what feels like a full cycle of the moon I will now have a camera once more....
The explanation is as follows.
Service Details:
---------------
Replaced CONTACTASSY.LENS/CHECK/CLEAN
Okay, not completely sure what that means. The check/clean part is easy. But what does "Replaced CONTACTASSY.LENS" mean?
???
What specifically does this include and entail regarding the camera? |

Contact assembly, at the lens? |

No lense was sent, just the body. So perhaps the contact / mount for lenses. *ponder* Not sure....weird eh? |

Best that I can tell from assembly drawings it is either the actual ring of the mount assembly that houses the lense contacts OR the contacts and the interface to the camera electronics or both.

weird...cause it had seemed more like a shutter failure. Well, here's to hoping it works when I get home!

Don't worry about the device details because fear is the mindkiller |

Quick--check your dust levels as a check of how "clean" they actually return the camera!
(And you can post to my dust thread if there's a lot!, which hopefully, there isn't.)

If the lense was not communicating properly with the camera due to faulty contacts or a fault in the housing/interface, that could cause your shutter to react funny. |
