Was comparing some edits with original raws and for some reason the pixel size is different... Raw image is 1536 x 1024 Pixels while the converted and saved jpeg is 3072 x 2048 pixels... What gives?

doesn't sound right. What does exif say ?

Exif on converted jpeg says 3072 x 2048... How can ya check the exif on the raw?

Even more confused... Raw converter shows the raw file to be 3072 x 2048 but irfan view shows it half as big...

Irfan view is displaying a jpg image derived from the RAW image. Don't worry about it.

RSE and RSP both do the same thing. MY file dimensions grow a bit on conversion but it does not seem to hurt anything.

In RSE and RSP you can set the dimensions of the converted image, otherwise it defaults to the original size of the RAW file.

I believe I saw something in RSP boards that indicated the RAW file is slightly different then the JPG generated in the camera in some camera models. Not sure this is the issue in this case....

Is Irfan View actually looking at the embedded jpeg in the RAW file, rather than the RAW file itself? If you've got your embedded jpeg set to medium, that might provide the answer.

I suspect the conversion is at 150dpi as to the original 72 dpi ?

Actually the embedded jpeg is set to small and course so I can fit the most shots on the card. Don't know what size that is.
