im using a d70s, what kind of settings are advised for the best out-of-camera quality? im not very good at post editing and dont shoot raw unless for important school events.(when a friend of mine more proficient with PS helps me out) for the more casual shots like trips to the countryside, how can i make my camera chunk out the the best pics?

Read the manual, experiment with different custom settings, find and upload into your camera a custom curve that you like.

Some links about custom curves

//forum.d70users.com/viewtopic.php?t=448

I am now at the point where it takes me a while to get the RAW image up to the level that the camera creates it's JPG's. If only the D70 had a RAW+JPG(fine) option.

Hope this helps

Darren
