What kind of lens is that?!?! It looks more like a howitzer than a telephoto!

It's a Canon 500mm f4.0 with the lens hood attached.
She can keep that one since I want the 600mm anyway. :)

Yikes! My Jeep didn't cost that much. Heck, I don't think a year of college even comes in that high! Must be a pretty nice piece of glass with a price tag like that.

At B&H, the Canon EF 500mm f/4.0L IS lens only costs $5,499.95, and it comes with a lockable suitcase to carry it in too. :)

I think the real tag is about $5,500. Still pretty steep!

No, but you'd need an SUV to mount in on, and to transport it between locations! :)

I already got that covered. It'll fit very nicely in my Tundra. I'm also going to start lifting weights again to build up my shooting muscles. :)
