ok it says "town" and a "nite out" (read the full challenge notes) so here is my personal interpretion:
1. must be away from home
2. in town area (no country side, home)
3. studio shots basically will be voted lower (its not nite IN)
4. photographers should go out there and have fun while shooting! :)
EDIT: 5. flower shots with no indication to "nite out" will be voted 1, unless it's stuck on a beer bottle or something. hehe

You forgot "any indication that it is daytime will result in a poor score". :-) That means the folks who enter from Iceland have to make sure they take their shot indoors. :-) |

a SUB-CHALLENGE for anyone entering--- don't set up a photo in your kitchen with bottles, or shot glasses, or spilled booze, unless it is really something unique. |

I believe the the Challenge guidelines say, and i quote
"Photograph a night out, from the bright lights to the gloomy bars, and anything in between."
The words "anything in between" to me broadens the guidelines a bit further you what folks are planning to use when you start crucifying peoples submissions.
To me, Anything in between could also mean anything associated with a night on the town. For example (and this is just an example) Someone driving the porcelain bus as a result of a BIG night on the town. Someone getting all dressed up could be getting ready to go out for a night on the town.
The variations are endless and i think it is a bit harsh to have already narrowed your view in regards to the challenge before you even see an image. I for one will judge each image on its own merits, and as long as i can see a relationship between the theme and the image i will be happy.
"HM" :)
