I have been doing pet portraits. Consider this like shooting school kids maybe...

Today I shot 13 clients, one after the other. Being animals, i shot until i had a couple of good ones. I pick the best and make wallets nd 5x7s, and give them a sheet of proofs (the 6 best via PS on a 'conatact sheet' 5x7).

I need a way to streamline this work in PP. I shoot in RAW and use canon's DPP to make JPGs of the 6 best, with basic WB/exposure adjustments. THen use PS to make the contact sheets, and then pick the best of each client to make 5x7s and wallets.

What i have been doing is open the whole mess in DPP (68 shots today), take 6 of client 1 and batch them out as JPGs named "d4_dog1_0001" (d4 being day 4). Next six are d4_dog2_0001..to 6 etc. This works well for weddings and senior pics..not so well for these type of shots.

Should i do a directory for each client and sort them in there after conversion? I can number them all sequentially (or not) and that will be quicker I think, but maybe not...

Any ideas?

For your peace of mind (preventing mixups) and being able to quickly locate a clients pics I think the directory per client idea is good. Do that either as you upload or immediately after.
