Hold down the ALT key and type 0169 on the numeric keypad (the on to the side of the keyboard, not across top). Num Lock must be on.

In what program? Many programs have a "special symbols" section to put stuff like that in.
In Microsoft word you just type (c) and it will autocorrect it for you. Worst case scenario, just copy and paste the symbol from say... the bottom of this page. |

In response to megatherian's question. It works anywhere you can type. Try it even in the reply box here. Hold down alt and type in 0169 and release. It acts as if you had the symbol right on your keyboard. |

I think you have to type the numbers on the keypad, not the top row. |

True. I assume everyone would naturally use the keypad. And you know what they say about assumptions.... ;) |

I never use the keypad. Too far from the letters.

Everyone should have an option button. Life (for those that don't already have it) would be much easier.

On many win machines Ctrl+Alt+C © does the trick as well.
Ctrl+Alt+R ®
Ctrl+Alt+2 ²
Ctrl+Alt+3 ³
Ctrl+Alt+5 €
Perhaps the last one, the euro (EUR) symbol will not show on all machines.

Laptop = no right keypad (Oh how I miss you so. XD)
I guess that's why I have had to copy and paste it into documents in Photoshop. Not that the program didn't recognize the shortcut, but rather I was missing the keypad that I needed. Hm...
The Ctrl+Alt+C doesn't work for me, as it brings up the prefrences for Trillian instead. o.o

I can do this using just my right ALT key. For this to work, your keyboard needs to be set to US-International.

On a laptop, hold down Fn+ALT and hit the keys that show the correct numbers in light blue. Those emulate a numbers pad.

Lol, awesome thanks. I'm missing 3 and 5 cause they're so worn off, heh, guess I'll just have to remember where they are like I do for my missing E and partially missing S, and N. ^^;;
