I found this report on CNN this morning, and the first thing that came to mind was a news paper headline reading "DPC'er goes postal after seeing one too many cat photos"

PS No, I'm not a heartless animal hating bastard making fun of other people's suffering and/or joking about animal abuse.

WHAT??!?!?!?!?!?! This is not funny! I know you said your not an animal hating bastard but the plain fact of the matter is this is mean spirited and I can find no humor in it. Maybe you could consider before you make a post designed to commiserate with your fellow photogs about the volume of cat photos posted. The reason there is such a volume of cat pix is because there are the same volume of cat lovers who frequent this site. Furthermore my sense of humor ends where real suffering begins. How do you know someone effected by this senseless act of cruelty doesn't post here? Even if you did not want to take into account the suffering of the animal imagine if you will the little girl who goes out to play in her yard early one morning and finds her best friend mutilated.

If you didn't mean to be insensitive we can just chalk this up to the late hour and a foggy sleep deprived brain.

Joanna, I understand what you are saying, but it sounds like it is just something that popped into his head. Nothing malicious is intended by it. Just an observation.
A lot of people have problems with certain images on this site, because of phobias, fears, and past experiences. To me, it is always better to deal with it then hide from it.
Living close to this makes me more aware of it because I hear it daily. And I would love nothing more than this person to be caught and have some suffering inflicted on them that they have dealt out.
