Looking at //www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=cart&A=details&Q=&sku=397595&is=USA any thoughts?
Trying to stay in this price range for the wide side. I am going for the regular 55-200 glass, but dont want to get the 18-55 after reading reviews.
Steve
PS, for D50 |

28mm isn't that wide, especially when you consider the 1.5x (42mm) or 1.6x (45mm) crop factor. Would make for an OK walk-around lens I guess. I have no experience with this caliber lens, but my guess is that's an OK lens for the price. Remember, with lenses, you definitely get what you pay for. The Nikon 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5D AF Zoom-Nikkor
seems to have a pretty good rating, but it's almost $500. Sorry I can't be of any more help. Good luck.

Not sure where you are located, but (if in the US) I'd let you have a Nikkor AF 28-70 f/3.5-4.5 for $50 US plus shipping. Send me an email or PM and I'll send pics if you are interested. Would allow you to save up for more serious glass and still have Nikkor glass to shoot with in the meantime. It would come with a 52mm UV filter and both end caps.

Flash,
Thanks for the offer. I think I am going to just go ahead with the kit lens and kit zoom and then get a 50 1.8 and go from there.
Thanks a bunch guys. |
