Does anybody know what you call a picture of thousands of images glued together in rows to create a big image. |

That's a photo mosaic.

There are other product names for the software used to make them, but I'm pretty sure that's the generic name. |

Yup, someone around here suggested it a while back...can't remember what it was... It was a novel idea at the time but I uninstalled it after a few days.
A quick dogpile (I don't google) and this free on comes up...

You may also want to view this page DT&G Photographic they list a bunch of puzzle and photo mosaic apps.
Edit: Edit: the program that was suggested on DPC is on that page. It is called Centarsia, it is Freeware (sorta).
