It's snowing away nicely here in Seattle, now would be a good time to take photos for Xmas cards?? I hope to get the right exposure so the picture doesn't look gray. Any tips? |

Think about how much lighter than medium gray the snow is and how much of the image it takes up. Then use exposure compensation to overexpose accordingly.

EV +1 or try bracketing mode.

To do it quick and dirty, set your camera to auto bracket and just run several exposures of each scene automatically.

Thanks all, I think I got some great shots by experimenting with the exposure factor. I'm just waiting to d/l on the other computer as it is otherwise occupied.
