I didnt think of this, i saw it somewhere and thought it was cool, so deciced to have a crack:
I'm kinda happy with it, but all i did was "copy, past, resize & rotate". I really want to make it look like the hands are joined to the fingers (not pasted on!) but I'm not sure how to even go about it! Blur, clone, heal AGHHHHH!!!!!!!
I want to have another go later, and see how far i can go with it, ANY pointer will be graciously received!!!
cheers

That's brilliant! - I love it. Nice job.
The only (small) problems I see is the wrist joints on the 'end hands' on the thumb. |

Watch your shadows too. Ought to be do-able in PS. |

Your best bet for making the blend look natural is to put the blend line right at the top of the crease in the finger. Then, adjust the skin tones of the smaller image to the larger one so that they match at the blend line. Don't use too wide a blend, use the edge of the crease to hide the transition. Also, as strnageghose posted, watch that the lighting is the same so that the shadows aren't a giveaway. Where one hand is in front of another, there also should be a shadow. You can create a diffuse shadow that looks natural with little experimentation.
