I've never done a gtg and think it sounds like fun from threads I've read. I've never toured ohio, nor have I been to the Indianapolis Zoo in a long time, and haven't been to White River Gardens. Not real sure what they'd have to offer this time of year. But I have next weekend off work and would like to do something with myself other than housework :-P

I skirted Indianapolis while jumping from I-65 to I-70 yesterday. I couldn't believe how many Red Tail Hawks were perched along I-70 for the first 30 miles east out of Indianapolis. They ought to call it Red Tail Road.

Anyway, its a do-able four hour trip for me. We compete against the White River RFC twice a year.

Red Tail Road? nah.. those little guys are all over Indiana. I had one perched outside my front door once - scared the bejeebers outta me!

I went to the Indy Zoo and WRG last year, both were a lot of fun. I'm up for a GTG sometime. I'm sure muck won't care if we just show up on his doorstep. =)

Aside from Peyton Manning, Marvin Harrison, and Edgerrin James I can't think of anything in Indiana I want to take a picture of. On the upside though its only a hop, skip, and jump away, and I always find something. LOL

Well I for one somewhat miss Indiana! I am from the Northwest Indiana region but I have my warm feelings for Bloomington (where I went to college).

I haven't been there for many years, but I remember that Brown County is beautiful, as are many places near Bloomington. But perhaps fall is nicest.

Up in the northwest, as I recall, there's the Indiana Dunes to shoot (perhaps best in summer). And there's always lake Michigan.

Unfortunately, I am too far away to come to a GTG, but next time I visit -- it would be to the Northwest, unfortunately, one reason I don't visit often), I'll see if someone is near enough!

I just uploaded one of my shots from my Indiana days--it was a long time ago though. This is my friend Victor on Lake Michigan. We were 15 at the time.

nshapiro... thanks for the GOOD things you said about Indiana.. There are lots of pretty places here. Waterfalls, hiking trails, weird foliage, etc.

nice photo btw... still awaiting snow like that!

now that i HAVE a doorstep, everyone's welcome! i even have a kitchen (kinda) now too!

i'd DEFINITELY be up for a GTG. if anyone is interested in an evening/night shoot, the lights are up in downtown indy, which is always kind of cool. i plan on heading down there soon.

first snow we get i'm going to go to turkey run state park (it's a little far for ohio folks, but if you're in IN or eastern IL and have never gone, i HIGHLY recommend it).

brown county is very doable, as is bloomington. we're not at the best time of year for anything super-spectacular, but we could have a ton of fun if we get some snow.

any other ideas? let's get this going!

Gonna go see Tut in Chicago?

Chicago GTG

Is anybody planning on going to the PP of Ohio Convention in March? I've heard this is supposed to be an excellent convention and trade show.
