Here is the dilemma...i am planning for Black Friday (see //www.bf2005.com ) and Circuit City has Sandisk 512 CF cards for $10. Not sure about quantity limits or rebates, but $10 net cost. Best Buy and Staples have 1Gb CF sandisk cards for $40, again, not sure of the details. I assume all are slow basic cards.

Which to get?

I have several 512 cards and the work fine. I have 1 1Gb card, a fast one, that also works fine... If i shoot raw then i tend to use the 1gb card first, but if i shoot a wedding i'll use them all anyway.

I would assume limited quantities, first come first served on these things, and CC opens at 5, staples at 6. I also will be getting a DVD burner ($40 at CC or staples).

I think i want the 1gb card, but it is twice the price per Gb of the 512 cards...I'm so undecided, and at 5 am i will be half asleep so NOW is the time to decide...

Sounds like a good deal if you don't mind changing the cards.
You didn't mention the speed of the CF cards though.

I assume all are the basic slow card. My rebel can't write any faster so the faster cards are not worth a premium...well, I plan to get a 20D next year and it can use the faster cards, and they do DL faster. The 1Gb card i have is a faster card.

Maybe i'l get 2 512's at CC and if the 1Gb is faster at staples, i'll get it and maybe keep the others anyway? Only $20, right?
