when you submit photos and check if you would like to have a detailed critique of this photo, when do you actually get a critique, is it emailed? is it somewhere on the site?

After the results of a challenge are posted all images for which a critique was requested are put in a queue that is managed by the Critique Club. The images stay in the queue until the next rollover.

The critique club comment will show up on your image with the rest of the comments and will usually be identified with ***Critique Club*** or something to that effect at the beginning of the comment.

It will show up in the comments of your photo, just like regular comments, but will usually say something like "Greetings from the Critique Club." Not every photo gets a critique, even if you request one, because there are way more requests than critiquers.
