I wanted to submit this photo, for its cool effects (not PS). Unfortunately, I can only submit one photo per exclusive member challenge. Since I spent 30+ mins on the collection challenge, I decided to submit a photo for that one instead.

I live in St. Louis also and haven't had any problems, just spent yesterday down by the Mississippi taking shots and had no problems. Always be careful and watch your surroundings but don't let that stop you from getting the shots. Take a buddy along that'll make you feel safer. Good luck

I nearly fell and killed myself doing my first industrial shots...climbed up a few flights of wet fire escape to sneak onto the roof of one of the buildings on campus, but I didn't even like any of the shots I got so I took a few from a bridge instead. But then after I got back to my compute I found out I can only enter one of the open challenges, and since my Collections picture is a lot better (I borrowed a friend's Rebel for it) and I also noticed about ten minutes ago that the date wasn't set in my own camera...this is what I would have submitted.

My shot is either going to do really well or really badly... I'm hoping on the former... lol

MY industrial shot was done this afternoon under the nose of the fire department LOL. I was sensible enough to ask permission first. And no, it has NOTHING to do with fire department per se, or even a fire, so I haven't given anything away :-)

I don't know what part of NM you were in but I just drove up to 2 plants, a drilling rig, power station and other such places yesterday and the biggest scare was the tin can that popped due to the temp change...... I saw nary a soul, but then the donut shops were MUCH warmer yesterday!

I think the local hick cops get bored sometimes......

Edit: spelling

This explains why we Pentax users are so die-hard fanatics...
