Hello DPCer's well today my new lights arrived at the house. I have 2 stands each with an umbrella, one is white and the other is reflective silver. They are 500 watt rated lamps each. I will just be doing shots in my house using continuous lights and bounce flash with a diffuser. My question for all you great folks is easy. Where do I get bulbs to put in these things. They came with 100 watt naturals, which arent quite bright enough. SHould I go ahead and get 500 or stay smaller. And are these light bulbs available just about anywhere? Or will I have to go to a specific place to get them. Thanks alot for any and all advice.

I assume the lights have a standard edison base? I'd go with a 250wt blubs. You can get them at B&H photo video.
If you really want to go with 500wt units I'd get an adapter (smith-victor) to convert the edison base to a two pin unit. More bulb choices and most have cooling fins. |

Thanks Hyperfocal, yes they are Edison base style lamps. The ones that I got were bought off ebay from a company that you can find here. 2dreammaker They are no where near professional but the price was great and fit my budget. If you feel that 250 would be OK thats what I will get. I'd like to find something local. Will any 250 watt bulb work? ie 250 watt floods? Thanks again.
