Has anyone ever had this happen?

I was downloading some photos from assignments today using a card reader and one of my files somehow became corrupted (it was fine in the camera just seconds earlier) and wiped out around 40 pictures on my card.

Of the 20 or so remaining images on my card, one of them is now 161 MB - the thumbnail preview still shows an image, but the file won't open. My guess is that the remaining pictures somehow "became" one. Has this happened to anyone else before? The card is a 1.0 GB Sandisk Ultra II.

I'm in the process of using image recovery software to get the missing files (it's working great so far) so fortunately there isn't a big concern...I just hope I don't have any problems Sunday (shooting my first wedding).

Huh, must be the day for strange file problems. Best of luck to you, but I'm clueless...
