I took my first test shot with my new Hoya R72 IR filter today (before my wife puts it away until Christmas). I got the dreaded fog/central haze. I have read that light contamination from the view finder is to blame. As I search for my original strap to recover the viewfinder coverâ€Â¦ does anyone know of a viewfinder attachment that could be used to magnify and aid in manual focusing and possibly even help with my fog problem?

Canon makes a very nice Angle Finder for their EOS cameras, like yours and mine. I want one. A bit pricy at 180 dollars or so. I'd think if stray light were a problem with this you could just drape a small cloth over it easily. You can actually do that on your camera as is, of course. Just have to be careful not to overhang the front of the lens. Not that big a deal, at least in horizontal orientation.
