I've seen some posts that say "someone gave me a 1" or "The last vote I received was a 7".

How do you calculate this so late in the voting?

Z votes x score = total 1
Z+1 votes x score = total 2

total 2 - total 1 = score just given.

It's easiest if you put it in an excel spreadsheet and just keep a running tally. If you miss votes then the spreadsheet just gives you the average of say 3 or 4 votes or however many were in the interval...

Thanks Achoo....

Go to my shot in Camouflage and give me a 10 so I can see if the formula works!

Hey thanks for the spreadsheet 4score. Now I can sit around all weekend checking on my last score!

Sweet - I was trying to figure this out for the Dead End and Landscape challenges. I started tracking vote number and ongoing score to see if there are consistent trends from beginning to end.

We'll see...

Just to modify this a little:

X votes x score = total 1
Y votes x score = total 2

total 1 - total 2 = interim accumulated new score, "Z"

Z / (Y-X) = average of interim scores.

IN other words, first sample is 100 votes (X), second sample is 110 votes (Y), Y-X = 10: Z (Total 2 - Total 1, the numerical amount of the added scores) divided by 10 (the number of votes) equals the average vote over that 10-vote range.

Or something like that :-)

This is just an elaborate joke, yes? Please tell me you guys don't really do this.

Hahaha! Not anymore I don't. I used to. And it's not anywhere near as tough as it looks. The windows calculator can do it in just a few seconds. It IS sort of an irrelevant exercise, isn't it? :-)

Hi
This is "challenged" me again. Could someone explain to me please where you see the "running votes" during a challenge? In "my Profile" I see the table with my entries and see how many have viewed the photograph and even see that someone commented, but the average score and % columns are void (there are of course numbers in them for those challenges that have finished already). It would be fun to see a running score, which obviously you can "somewhere".

Thanks for your help
Gaby

You can setup a spreadsheet for it, or NiallOTuama has created a challenge monitor that you can download. Just follow the link on his profile page.

Unless Gaby means something simpler. If you click on 'my home', you'll see you current score under your entry on the left column.
As you say your profile page will not show that info.
Niall tracker is good fun and clever, just remember that the graphs detailing the votes distribution are based on a "guesstimation" based on your current vote and the number of voters not on the real votes received, which are not disclosed until the chellenge ends.

Ah - thank you :-). Yes, that is what I was looking for. Will look at the spread sheet as well.
