I've been searching and read about a firmware hack to bring my iso up to 3200 on my 300D, well my question is do I need it? My rebel right now is at firmware 1.1.1 (i think thats it) do i need it??

If you ask that question, then you probably don't need it.
But the hacked firmware brings you more then just ISO3200.
I had one of these hacked firmwares on my 300D until I sold it and realy had no problems with it.
It gave me some extra stuff to play with.

Ya you do. The high iso is not nearly as needed as the level of control you get out of the added functions such as shooting in RAW in all modes, or miror lock up. I can't even recall what the limitations of the canon frimware are since I have been using one hack or another for two years now.
