I can't help but notice how the entries in the triptych challenge are so much better than the normal challenge entries. I think that this challenge encourged people to shoot a series of images and that has done a world of good for this site. it's great to see this challenge and I hope there are many more like this one.

the results have been really amazing, overall...you're right.

mabey in place of two open challenges we should have a weekly series challenge, where we can present up to five photos in one image of a series we shot during the week. I think that overall this would be great fun to see how people come up presenting up to 5 images in one.

something to think about!

Oh God! Doing three took over my life ! LOL

I must admit I enjoyed this one more than any other entered and I am probably most pleased with my entry than any other, whatever it scores. It meant I had to really consider what shots I took would go together, working with the borders(nightmare), and considering the limitation of size on content of each shot. Certainly a collage would be fun to try at some point.

I think people are getting a little carried away over the Triptych challenge. Let the dust settle before we think about a repeat. The voting hasn't even closed yet, lol.

I agree, but can't wait to see the submission for the Free Study challenge. These always seem to have that extra thing that makes them special. I'm really having trouble getting my image the way I want it to submit.

I was taught it would be pentych. Of course, the painter I heard the term from was an ordained Baptist minister and knew Greek.

Usually "pent" refers to geometric variations and "quint" to linear variations. In other words, we have pentagrams and pentagons, but 5 siblings in one birth is quintuplets. Similarly, we have triangles but triptychs.
