a little soft, but maybe what you were going for. i like these maternity shots when you can see the mother's face. it shows a connection between the two.

Thanks for the comments. I agree it is soft, which wasn't entirely my intention...it's a self portrait, and therefore, I had some difficulty getting the focus just right. The ring bothers me too... I was thinking of trying to clone it out entirely.

srdanz, the camera was positioned about 5' away, with an aperture f/4.2 at 1/5 sec and a focal length of 52mm

jpochard, I'm currently working on some other shots and will let you know when I have some more available to share.

Thanks again for the feedback. |

I like the shot a lot. I am quickly becoming very fond of maternity shots. I agree with all the comments. It's been my experience (when my wife was pregnant) Take as many shots as you can. I only have one of my wife (much to my regret), but it garnered some interest from a friend of mine who wanted me to do some of her. FWIW...My maternity collection

I think its a beautiful well framed and well lit shot. The hand does look a bit *plastic* too me. I dont know if thats neat image or just over retouching. For me personally, I love to see natural textures and with that lighting, you should have gotton some nice texture. It is well done! Congrats on you new one on the way too! A whole new model to work with!
