In appriciation of the high quality standard in the Triptych challenge, i am going to pledge to leave 4 comments for every 1 comment i recieve (i normally try to make 2 comments for ever comment i recieve during a challenge, but sometimes i fall behind).
This will continue until which time that i run out of pictures to comment on.

Anyone else?

sure I'll join you. So far that means I leave 4 comments.

If I were to pledge 4 comments for every one comment I have received, let me see that would mean I am pledged to provide a total of zero comments.... lol

LOL. I've voted on half the trip entries so far. I'm going to try to leave a generous number of comments, as I have been remiss in voting & commenting lately.

I just voted on and left comments on 9 photos, it took me about 20 minutes.
And then it tells me that it's only 4%!!!!
This is going to take ages.

I'll match that pledge. I also pledge that my comments will be in full sentence form and also speak at least somewhat to the technicals of the picture.

I'm due to give 44 already...

Add me to the mix as well. I haven't been receiving any comments on mine (only 1 actually) but will leave comments for both artistic and technicals.

i just finished my first run through... not sure what to do with all the ones that are just a single image, so i marked them as 1 as a place holder and will rescore them later...

when i go back through, i plan to leave more comments...

Hmmm. Great idea, given vs received ratio!
So far i have voted on 49%, and left 31 comments. I have received 3...

The variety of the images are overhwlming, in a good way. I can't stop looking at them!

Do you mean the ones that are a single image cut into three sections then rejoined? If so maybe re-reading the challenge details will help you decide what to do ;)

From the challenge description:

A triptych is a work of art which is divided into three sections and then hinged or connected. Create an entry consisting of three panels that tells a story or illustrates a concept or object. Your panels can be made up of one photo or up to three separate photos.

Personally I view a triptych as three separate images, but this was not required in the rules. SO, I'm going through and trying to decide if the "splitting" of one image adds to the the image by making a statement OR if it's just taking a good image and splitting it into three to fit the challenge. That's proving somewhat difficult, and is really just a matter of taste. I've scored some single image triptychs high because the divisions added to the image, and I've scored some single image triptychs low because I felt they were just "fitting the challenge".

Sorry, this doesn't help does it?

I'm not entered but I have commented on a few so far. There are some very good traditional triptychs as well as some creative ones.

well... it states exactly what i was thinking, actually... i guess i'm having trouble on the tells a story or illustrates a concept or object part for many of these...

the "pretty picture with 2 lines through it" just doesn't work for me, i guess.

no offense to those who entered them or those who vote them high... they just don't grab me... and voting is subjective, after all

and don't worry... i'm not going to call them DNMC and leave them at 1... i reserve 1's for pictures of house cats... j/k
