| I am going to be doing some shots of a friend at her home this week. This is probably going to be a somewhat informal shoot, as I have never done this before. She has been doing some shoots to add to her portfolio, she wants to get into modeling, and I jokingly asked when I get to shoot her and she agreed to a shoot this Thursday. I was wondering, if I ever wanted to add these shots to a portfolio of mine, would I need a release? She is a friend, so I kinda feel it would be wierd to ask for this. But I do want to cover my bases just in case I ever want to use them myself. Thanks for the help. Oh and what the hell do I bring? I don't have anything in the way of equipment except a camera, tripod and aclip on halogen light. Any suggestions? |

Always get a model release, even if you're shooting your mother. You never know when the occasion may arise when you could use the photo and will need a model release. It's not something you should be embarrassed about. It shows you are professional.

Oh and about what to bring... bring all you listed. But maybe instead of using the clip-on halogen, try using a North facing window. You'll love the light there if it's daylight.
