I'm picking up a new monopod at Ritz Camera tomorrow and I can't decide if the warranty they sale is worth it for a monopod. The monopod is $50 the warranty is for 3 years and covers just about everything and it costs $40 now yeah if I have to replace the monopod then it has paid for itself but in reality if it is only replaced once in 3 years is it really worth the $40 now?
I can't decide on the monopod, on my camera it wasn't a question but on a monopod where the difference is only $10 is it really worth it? |

| I'd say don't buy the warranty. What's gonna break on the monopod? It has very few moving parts, nothing mechanical or electrical or even sensitive. It'd be tough to break that think trying. |

lol that is what I was thinking and yet when I went into get the monopod 3 weeks ago I found out it was spring loaded and one of the springs in the store model had broke. But then everything on the monopod is replacable and very inexpesively too... |

I got the extended warrenty for my tripod, and glad I did, after my trip to Niagara Falls the tripod wont lock down on the left to right panning axis. gonna take it in soon to get fixed or replaced....
