While playing around with the idea of Landscape I took this picture, but I thought it might be too busy. (Of course with my garbage score maybe I should have.) But please let me know if my thoughts were correct. Is it too busy? Thanks in advance.

Hey I posted a reply here!! Honest, or at least I thought I had. Oh well, what I said in previous post was basically that the horizon was not straight - bad enough I actually got a feeling of vertigo while looking at it, and the power lines distract greatly. So along with the "business" of the photo, probably would have scored lower than your garbage entry, but that is of course a guess on my part. Hope my opinion helps a bit.

Thanks for the reply, I hadnt straightened the horizon yet on the pic, usually one of the last things I do. I stopped short of actually finishing it, when I didnt think it was good enough for the 5.0 I am shooting for. I am fairly new editing and to the challenges. So bouncing my thoughts about my photo of a group would help me make better decisions. Sorry about the vertigo thing! :-)

IMHO, yes...too busy. There are a lot of interesting things going on here (cool sky, lightning, bright green car, neighborhood, etc..). But, they all compete for attention, and nothing really wins. |

It looks to me as if you have at least three pictures here -- the sky with wires (kind of cool as an abstract), the lightning, and the street scene.
You've got the eye. Keep on shooting. |

If I had that and wanted to enter it - try this: crop out everything from the bottom, trees, houses lightning the lot, and crop out the other telegraph pole arm on the right. I shrank my browser to have a look at how this would look, and it seems very enterable. Not sure for a landscape exactly but a nice photo.
edit to add: don't crop out the left telegraph pole any more than you hav to, else it'll just be clouds.

For all of you that entered the Landscape II challenge, there were some excellent shots in that challenge. I've given the most 10's I think I have ever given since I've been on DPC. Kudos to all you guys.
