I gave my wife my old Canon Pro 90 and on our first photo excursion she made this photo of a migrating Monarch Butterfly. The Monarch is resting on Chamisa blooms in Tijeras Canyon near Albuquerque. The unusually warm fall weather has caused a later than normal migration to Mexico from Northern climes. The warm weather is also responsible for the late blooming Chamisa. I think she is a 'natural'!

Very nice! Not a monarch though, it's a Painted Lady

Thought the body looked a bit too fat! Thanks, Kirbic for the clarification. |
