I'm looking for a decent 2x or 3x teleconverter for my G6. I have the 52mm lens adapter. Are there any lenses w/ filter threads on the front? What brands do you recommend? Where are some good places to buy a lens from? Thanks.

Canon makes some very good teleconverters for their non-DSLR cameras, but they are expensive. The Olympus TCON-17 is another very good one, less expensive but not as easy to use as you may need to get step up rings to fit it onto your camera. You can find cheaper ones but some are poor quality. I was disappointed in a $100 3x I bought off ebay.

The Canon ones are good. They are 58mm so you'll need a step up ring. The only problem is that the canon ones don't have filter threads so you'll have to stack the filters between the adapter and the converter.

The filters that I have don't have front threads either.

I've heard good things about Raynox teleconverters, though I haven't bought one yet so I can't vouch for them personally.. Take a look here.

Wow, they look amazing. I couldn't find prices on the site though. I'll keep looking. Thanks.
