Let's get rid of our expensive digitals for a challenge and shoot with a really low budget digital keychain camera or something for a challenge.

Yeah, exactly, a "toy" digital camera. You can get cheap digital cameras everywhere for under $15.

How about cellphone-cameras? They're not cheap, but they aren't high quality either.

Most large retail stores, I know Walmart does, carry slim cheap digital cameras. These cameras can take pics at VGA resolution 640x480, take short video clips, and work as web cams. I've seen key-chain digital cameras at K-mart also.

Yeah, and a lot of us have them. That goes with the theme. A challenge using low-end cameras and cell phones are definitely in that category.

I was just thinking that a challenge like this could give some of those No camera, just voting users involved.

Konador's last couple of entries were taken with a camera/phone:

Proof that it's about the photographer much more than the hardware.

Phone cams have EXIF data? Didn't know that, LOL... I assume if we ran this challenge it would have to be a no-editing challenge, right? What would be the point otherwise?

I believe I'd stay with basic rules, adding that it can only be taken with a very low-end digital camera or camera phone.

Do cell phone cams record EXIF data into the image file?

weird, I just got back from Walmart and picked up a $15 phillips digital camera while I was there. Sat down, opened up my browser and saw this thread for the first time.

I guess it's a sign. I'm in.

NAH, that was a camera on auto thread, this is a really cheap camera challenge. I appreciate your willingness to let the photographer shine though. Those other folks are just skeered :-)

I'll do this one too :) My kids are learning and it just helps them watch and learn a bit more.
