I want to do my daughter Christmas portraits this year since I'll have a new camera and I've been working on poses and angles to take shots and whatnot. Usually we pay Sears or someone else to do it, but I thought I'd give it a shot.
So what do I need to know about lighting or are there any good website I can use for tutorials? I know absolutely NOTHING about lighting or portait taking. I need some kind of free tutorial.
Also, what website is good to use for developing? I don't want something really pricey, but still want something that I will be able to order wallet sizes, 3x5's, and 8x10's.
Thanks for any help or advice you might have!
ps, if you could please pm me if replying to this. I will be out of town till next monday and have no way of checking this between now and then and I don't want to go hunting for it.
Thanks! |

Hi Kimberly - I don't know anything about portraiture, but you might want to check out this thread which was posted earlier in the day:
Portrait lighting
Good luck!

I just found this site today. There are some free lessons offered.
Web Photo School
Hope this helps.

Developing? Perhaps you mean printing?
Walmart, costco sams club all do good work. Online Mpix and Winkflash are very good as well. Online is a bit less expensive and you have more options on paper or finishes, etc.
