Has anyone got one of these? If so what are the results like.I keep changing my mind from the R1800 and the R2400.Could anyone sway me to the R2400.
Many thanks.
Yes I have read the review on the site "i-photo", but your thoughts would be great. |

As an 1800 owner myself and having gone through the exact same issues you are having, the big thing I see between the two printers is if you do a lot of b&w - go for the 2400, more color - 1800. I can't say anything but good things about the 1800, but since you want people to sway you away from that one I'll keep my mouth shut for now.

can you explain the difference between the r1800 and r2400?
why does epson make so many so similar printers?

I overheard the epson rep explaining just that to another attendee at the NY Photo Expo a few weeks ago. I think the gist of it was one was better for B & W and one was better for color, sorry I dont remember which. |

2400 is a better B/W printer. I'm not aware that it is worse with color, but I know that it was tweaked (more inks I think) to perform exceptionally well with B/W.
I still use a 2000P, and love it.

2400 has 4 different colors of black along with the standard CMY and photo CM
1800 has 2 Blacks, CcMmYBR and gloss optimizer (thats standard CMY and photo CM Blue and Red)

The R2400 does not have a gloss cartridge,it use's the new K3 ink's which are suppose to be better than the darkroom prints. However cannot get to see any prints from this machine. There must be someone out there who has a R 2400 who can comment on the photo quality. |
