I was wondering if anyone has some tips for getting an unpaid assistantship. What I would really like to do is work weekends as an unpaid assistant for wedding photography. Does anyone advice on how to go about this? Will not having any academic experience in photography be a problem? |

no experience with it first hand but a buddy of mine said the photo studio he works at hires assistants all the time to do the random shots and help them at events while the "pro" is getting the money shots. I would just contact a local studio, show them your stuff and your desire to learn more. I'm not sure if you can be an unpaid one due to legal issues but it's worth a try. Good luck with it.

Why would you assume that you should be unpaid?
